Cultivation

For indoor culture, choose low compact varieties. In summer, pepper can be exposed to the open air on the balcony or terrace. Use a substrate of peat (2/3) and humus (1/3) with the addition of 20 g of complex fertilizer per bucket of soil, pH 5.5-6.5. During active growth and development, it is recommended to water 10 ml of flower fertilizer per bucket of water weekly.

Location

Capsicum prefers a well-lit, ventilated place, does not like shading. If there is a lack of light, flowering will be poor. In winter, direct sunlight contributes to the beautiful bright color of the fruit.

Temperature

The growing temperature is approximately 18 °C - no higher than 20 °C. In winter, it is recommended to keep the temperature at least 12-14 °C. If the plant is not placed in the open sun, and the environment is sufficiently humid, there are no problems with excessively high temperatures.

Watering

In summer, watering should be plentiful and frequent, but it is necessary to avoid stagnation of water. In winter, water less often, especially during the dormant period, otherwise the fruits will fall off. It is very important to maintain a constant humidity environment by frequently spraying with water and placing wet pebbles or expanded clay in the tray.

Care

To keep the plant clean, frequent spraying with water is sufficient. Do not use lustrating solution.

Reproduction

Annual capsicum is propagated by seeds; they are sown in March-April at a temperature of approximately 18 °C in light seed soil. Seedlings should be kept in a very bright place, otherwise it will affect flowering. In the future, they are transplanted into any nutritious land, you can garden. Fruits in the rooms are not always tied successfully, so it is better to put flowering specimens on the balcony, terrace, etc.

Diseases

Annual pepper is often damaged by aphids that settle on young shoots. Treatment is carried out with appropriate insecticidal preparations. Spider mites infect the underside of leaves. You can see cobwebs and merging specks. In this case, increase the humidity level around the plant and treat it with acaricides.

Acquisition

When buying capsicum, as a rule, already flowering plants are purchased. When the fruit shrivels, the plants can be discarded.
